Due to prolonged power outages in several areas of Karachi, water shortages still occur, however, according to the Water Board, water supply will return to the city in a few hours.
A spokesperson of the Karachi Water Board said that power was restored at 5:15 am today at other pumping stations including the Dhabiji pumping station.
The spokesperson said that after 4 to 5 hours the water supply will start coming normally.
The spokesperson of the water board has further said that the repair work of 72-inch diameter 5 line which is occurring due to damage has been completed.
The spokesperson of the Water Board also said that Karachi is facing a water shortage of 640 mgd due to power shortage.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Energy has said to restore power to all the grid stations in the country.
In Karachi, power supply was also suspended in Malir, Model Colony, Rifa-e-Aam, Al-Falah Society, Golestan-e-Johar Block 8 and 19, Garden, Kashmir Colony, Akhtar Colony, Yasinabad and Landhi Khorramabad.
Apart from this, electricity has not been restored in Mehmoodabad, Defense View, Manzoor Colony and Liaquatabad C1 area even after 24 hours.
