Tai Township collision victim identified by OPPOUS News

Provincial police released the identity of the driver who lost his life in a dump truck collision in Tai Township on Wednesday.

According to police, 26-year-old Joy Baker, a resident of Midland, died in an accident on Highway 12.

Baker and her partner welcomed a baby boy over the summer, a GoFundMe campaign created to help the family.

Police say the 26-year-old was driving a pickup truck when it collided with a dump truck between Gratrix and Fraser Streets.

The accident forced the dump truck to turn on its side and evacuate the gravel.

The driver of the dump truck suffered minor injuries.

The police had kept the area closed for more than 12 hours for investigation.

The cause of the accident has not been disclosed.
