Rain in Kerala subsides, heavy rains start in Karnataka, Goa, Konkan and OdishaOUS News

India Monsoon News Live Updates, Weather News Update, Rain News Live Today, August 7, 2022: After days of heavy downpours, Kerala got a respite as the rain eased off in many parts of the state. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert in Idukki, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kasargod and Kannur districts on Saturday. The state Disaster Management Authority has warned of landslides in hilly areas that have received heavy rains in recent days.

Meanwhile, heavy to very heavy rains occurred in isolated parts of Tamilnadu in the southern interior of Karnataka. A statement from IMD said heavy to very heavy rains were recorded in isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Konkan & Goa, Saurashtra & Kutch, Odisha, Coastal Karnataka & Tripura & Mizoram and heavy rains in remote places of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat Region, Chhattisgarh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, Sikkim, Madhya Maharashtra,
Telangana and Kerala.

IMD predicted that intense rainfall activity is likely to continue over south and coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, Odisha for the next 5 days. Coasts of Konkan and Goa will witness rains from August 8-10 and Odisha on August 8-9. Intense rainfall activity is expected to start over Vidarbha today and over Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh and Gangetic West Bengal from 8th August. Maharashtra from August 8 to 10. Onset of rain in Telangana and Chhattisgarh on August 8.
