Four people, including three family members, lost their lives after a slab from the fourth floor of a building crashed into the ground floor of Ulhasnagar, Thane district, on Thursday after- midday. The incident reportedly took place around 2 p.m. in Manas Tower, a five-storey building located in Camp Five of Ulhasnagar city. Firefighters, Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation and police officials carried out rescue operations amid the rains.
Mumbai woke up to rain on Thursday morning as heavy to moderate rains were recorded in both the island city and its suburbs. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) officials, however, denied the risk of heavy rain in the city and said light to moderate rain spells would continue to hit it for the next 48 hours.
