Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and hail occurred in some areas of Hyderabad’s Waqarabad district, Marpalli village, Telangana’s Zaheerabad. Earlier, the Meteorological Department had issued an orange alert for the whole of Telangana for the next two days due to thunderstorms and snowfall at some places. Meanwhile, Bhopal received snowfall and heavy rain in areas on Thursday evening.

The meteorological department gives this advice to farmers

The Meteorological Department has asked farmers to postpone harvesting of wheat and pulse crops in Punjab, Haryana and central Maharashtra. Some parts of the hill states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh also received snowfall. The meteorological department said that mustard should not be harvested until the rains stop in Punjab and Haryana, if it has already been harvested, it should be stored in safe places to avoid spoilage. Big loss to farmers in Maharashtra

The Meteorological Department has been asked to make arrangements to protect apple, pear, plum and peach orchards from snow in Himachal Pradesh-Uttrakhand. The same has been suggested for plantations in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. For farmers in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, IMD has advised to harvest ready mustard, gram and wheat as soon as possible and store them in a safe place.
