Trump Criticizes Biden and Trudeau’s Summit Deal at Texas Rally

Former President Donald Trump criticized the deal made between Canada and the United States during the recent summit between US President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Speaking at a rally in Waco, Texas, Trump warned against possible impeachment and expressed his support for the January 6 Capitol Riots insurgents who were imprisoned for their role in the event.

Under Trump’s presidency, the United States and Canada renegotiated NAFTA with Mexico, creating the United States Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Trump claimed that Canada treated the United States badly in terms of trade, but also referred to Trudeau as “a great gentleman.” However, he criticized the recent deals made by Biden and Trudeau, calling them “terrible, terrible deals for our country” but great for Canada.

Trump also pointed out Biden’s recent slip of the tongue when he mistakenly thanked China instead of Canada during his speech in the House of Commons, creating an awkward moment amid allegations of foreign interference by China in the 2019 and 2021 federal elections.

The Biden-Trudeau summit discussed several cross-border issues such as strengthening the Nord, tackling illegal immigration, tackling unofficial ports of entry, advancing efforts on renewable energy, and supporting Haiti.
