BC’s police dog watch was called in after the RCMP shot and killed a man in Prince GeorgeOUS News

Provincial police are watching the dog, BC’s Independent Investigation Agency (IIO) is investigating after police in Prince George shot and killed a man on Wednesday.

The IIO said the incident happened at Highway 97 and Willowcale Road on Wednesday evening after receiving information from the RCMP.

“There was an interaction between the man and the police, and he was shot. He was pronounced dead a short time later,” according to a statement from the IIO.

The IIO said the investigation will work to confirm the police accounts of the incident and the interaction which led to the man’s death.

The IIO is called upon to investigate cases where police action or misconduct leads to injury or death.
